Jose Mari Chan And Ayala Land Partner For Festival Of Lights 2021
“The Festival of Lights is an event that people look forward to every year. I remember around 3 years ago when I was invited to perform right here at Ayala Triangle Gardens,” shares Jose Mari Chan, the Philippines’ beloved harbinger of Christmas cheer.
Renowned for his earlier songs such as Christmas in Our Hearts and Count Your Blessings, the award-winning musician was invited by Ayala Land to produce the Christmas medley for Ayala Land and Make It Makati’s Festival of Lights: Virtual Edition this year.
This is the second time that the memorable Festival of Lights will be live-streamed online. Last year, the festival was available for all to experience online via Facebook and YouTube. The Ayala Triangle Gardens, the venue where the festival was annually held, was recreated online. Guests were able to enjoy a 360-degree animation of the festival as an exciting orchestration of laser lights, string lights, meteor lights, holograms, and helix lights danced to contemporary versions of traditional holiday songs.
Shiella Agular shares, “What touched me most about the Festival of Lights: Virtual Edition is how it reached millions of Filipinos, especially those who are living in other countries and were unable to come home to their families for Christmas. It was an experience that families were able to share together even when they were apart. We hope that this year’s light show will continue to bring the same joy and meaning to you and your loved ones”.
The Christmas collaboration has been made official during the intimate contract signing at Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati which was attended by Mr Jose Mari Chan; Chrissy Roa, Marketing Communications Head of Ayala Land Estates; Mel Ignacio, Head of Makati Estate, Ayala Land; Shiella Aguilar, Project Development Head of Makati Estate, Ayala Land; Misha Quimpo, ALI Project Development Manager; Sharon Vital, ALI Marketing Manager; and April Ylagan, ALI Senior Marketing Associate.
“This year, we want to make our second virtual light and sound show even more meaningful and special. While fun fare and merrymaking are part of the Christmas celebration, we want to remind everyone that the real reason for the season is the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ. And to bring this to life, now one would ever come close to a Philippine music icon whose Christmas songs were all written from the heart and capture the true essence of Christmas,” says Chrissy Roa.
This November, guests of all ages will be serenaded by the Christmas icon when Ayala Land hosts the annual event online, in partnership with Globe Studios and led by filmmaker and director Quark Henares.
