The project presents 100 different monsters, each assembled from a set of traits inspired by various classic monsters such as ghouls, ogres, werewolves, and vampires
If you're anywhere around Makati this week, consider dropping by Art In The Park which will present its live exhibits at the Jaime C Velasquez Park on April 28, 2022. The event will highlight more than 61 galleries, art schools, independent art spaces, art collectives, and for the first time an NFT marketplace.
Art In The Park's venture into the intriguing world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) was made possible by Monster Mayhem Megamash, an ongoing project of artist Migs Antonio, who his avid supporters fondly call 'Distort Monsters'.

Fairgoers are expected to see Distort Monsters in action as he creates fascinating creatures for the fair through a live mural painting session that will start at 4pm. He will also talk about his Monster Mayhem Megamash to further explain how it bridges the gap between traditional art and NFTs.
"So on the 28th, I will be doing a live mural and talk about NFTs on that day, I have invited the members of the monster mayhem community to show up and it is like the perfect day to meet with holders of Monster Mayhem here in Manila. Around 2019, that was when I started to really get into NFTs again. This is cool, you know, what if I make my own monster and I have no idea that they are going to look like. . .and so on and so forth," Distort Monsters said in an online press conference.
"So I have been toying with the idea for quite some time; but you know, having a generative project was not enough for me to jump in. It was actually around 2022 and 2021 when I started hearing of the term utility in relation to NFTs," he added.
Utility in NFTs is NFTs with values based on the perks, access, and opportunities that they provide to token holders.
