Poised to breathe new life into Chijmes Hall is Watabe Wedding Group from Japan, who has been recently appointed the official venue manager of the elegant venue in Singapore.

Established in 1953, Watabe Wedding Group started out as a free kimono rental shop, and has grown to its current status as an international company which offers a wide range of wedding services in countries including Japan, Guam, Bali, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Now teaming up with Chijmes Hall, the Group aims to build on the charm of the venue's Gothic-style architecture. Built in the 19th century, the building was gazetted as a national monument on October 26, 1990.

"The Watabe Wedding Group adores Chijmes Hall. It fits strongly into the plans of our Group to expand in Asia to satisfy the rising need for unique wedding venues and for total wedding solutions. Our aim is to infuse all our knowhow in wedding plans and management into Chijmes Hall and make Watabe Wedding Chijmes Hall into a globally recognisable wedding icon," shares Hidetoshi Watabe, CEO of Watabe Wedding Group.

The Group provides services for wedding ceremonies, receptions, banquets and post-wedding parties, and covers aspects like wedding gowns, hair and makeup, photography and videography. Of course, what is a wedding without the wining and dining? Watabe has chosen to work with the award-winning restaurant group, Tung Lok Catering, who has been appointed the official caterer for Chijmes Hall.
