In the presence of friends and family, society darling Chloe Ng wed her fiancé Sherman Tan in an opulent ceremony that included three dress changes

It was the Saturday right before Chinese New Year, and society darling Chloe Ng added a frisson of excitement to the festive season with her nuptials to Sherman Tan, scion of Tan Kim Siong, chairman of the Fei Siong Group. Held at a six-star hotel and resort, the glamorous affair brought Singapore’s finest families together to witness the happy couple’s union.

The bride was positively glowing in her custom strapless, silk Nicole + Felicia Couture gown—fresh as snow—with an enormous train that was scattered with silk flowers along the voluminous skirt (trust us, it took a delicate two-person team to manoeuvre the dress perfectly in place as the bride ascended the stage), paired simply with a diamond necklace, a gold Cartier love bracelet with diamonds, and a diamond ring worn on the index finger. The look of the day was fresh-faced beauty, with a bold red lip and her hair chicly parted in the centre and tied in a low bun. Très Grace Kelly!

Of course, this was just one of three dresses that the bride changed into throughout the course of the night—the other two being: a) a strapless silver gown embroidered with sequins; and b) a gorgeous pink, ruffled gown—not to mention the traditional cheongsam with a charming blooming peony motif that she donned for the traditional tea ceremony.

Meanwhile, the groom was dapperly decked in a black tuxedo for the first half of the night, then changed into a more casual velvet number with a red bow tie and aviator shades that made him look every bit a Mandopop star.

Guests—which included society mavens such as Grace Chng, Chiang Yu Lan, Belinda Chua, Sharon Lim, Jean Yip and Mervin Wee, and friends of the couple like Kiat Lim, Elroy Cheo, Victoria Peyser, Rebecca Eu and Johannes See—descended on the ballroom from 7pm, which was transformed into a wild floral setting and watched in joy as the couple said their vows, lit a ceremonial candle together as a symbol of their love and made touching tributes to their parents and close friends. Throughout the dazzling night, guests were also treated to decadent dishes such as lobster ee fu noodles, braised three-head abalone, steamed red garoupa with a divine garlic sauce and many more.

Hearts—and stomachs—full, it was definitely a night that guests would remember for years to come.
