Art aficionados and VIPs gathered at Popinjays, The Murray’s newly opened rooftop bar and restaurant for the annual White Cube Art Basel cocktail party, which celebrated British artist and sculptor Antony Gormley’s second exhibition at the gallery. The exhibit, Rooting the Synapse, presented Gormley’s series of Rooter iron sculptures, which he made in the past two years using plant-like branching systems to map a human body in space. Gormley flew in especially for the occasion and was joined by friends including Kai-yin Lo and fellow British contemporary artist Tracey Emin.
