Female ambition was honoured with a bubbly toast on May 31, when marketing maven Bonnie Chan-Woo co-hosted an intimate cocktail event to celebrate Veuve Clicquot’s new La Grande Dame 2008 champagne. The fête, which was held at Sevva in Central, brought together accomplished women from a variety of industries like Joyce Tam, Yenn Wong and Vanessa Xu. It was an appropriate crowd to ring in Veuve Clicquot’s latest bevvy, which was named after Madame Clicquot, the French businesswoman who took over the champagne house in 1805 and expanded the brand’s influence. “Madame Clicquot shattered all stereotypes of a woman’s role in society in the 19th century,” Chan-Woo said.
