When and where? September 2 at 59-65 Queen’s Road Central

Who? Reina Chau, Kevin Poon, William and Lavina Lim, Victoria Tang-Owen, Denise Ho

Here’s what you missed: Art collectors flocked to the former Topshop store on Queen’s Road Central in early September for the opening of Unscheduled, an art fair established by the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association (HKAGA). Among the crowd were William and Lavina Lim, who earlier this year donated nearly 100 works from their collection to the soon-to-open M+ museum; Patrick Sun, founder of the Sunpride Foundation, an organisation that works to advance LGBTQ rights through art; and Kevin Poon, an art collector and founder of the new Woaw Gallery. Fifteen galleries took part in this year’s event, showing a wide variety of contemporary art by both local and international artists. The event was spearheaded by Willem Molesworth, vice president of the HKAGA, and Fabio Rossi, co-president of the HKAGA and director of Rossi & Rossi Gallery, who enlisted curators Jing Chong and Clara Wong to transform the store into a cohesive, thought-provoking exhibition space.
