In the company of beloved family members and life-long friends from around the world, Tunku Dara Naquiah and Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a grand Hawaiian luau, a throwback to their honeymoon days in Hawaii.

The grand ballroom of the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur was decked out in palm trees, twinkling fairy lights and frangipani flowers aplenty, as guests turned up in their snazziest Hawaiian get-ups. Following dance performances, song dedications and touching speeches by family members and friends including Tunku Danny, Tunku Datin Myra, Tunku Jamie, Tunku Eddie and Dato’ James Iskandar Jaafar-Greaves in ‘Nicky and Atuk's’ honour, a traditional dance was performed by professional dancers flown in from Hawaii. Finally, Tunku Dara and Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar garnered cheers from the crowd with their own rendition of Olivia Newton-John’s “Let Me Be There” after cutting the cake.
