Malaysia has its fair shares of key players in the property scene, each having their own style when it comes to developing the country's landscape. We've gathered a number of figures from these corporations, some taken from our own 300 Society List, so you can stay knowledgeable on who's who in the industry.

Under his guidance, he has expanded the company beyond property development, with ties in the tourism and insurance industries. For his efforts in growing the business further, he has received multiple awards, and is even a notable philantrophist.

The chairman of Genting Group concentrates on globalising the hospitality conglomerate, specifically in the gaming sector. Presently in conception is Resorts World Las Vegas, expected to open in 2019, and the world's first 20th Century Fox movie-inspired theme park, which has already generated great public interest.

Although relatively young, Lee Yeow Seng is the CEO of IOI Properties, inheriting the mantle from his father as a second-generation leader responsible for managing the operations and strategic planning of the group. He is also a barrister from the Bar of England & Wales by Inner Temple and holds a LLB (Honours) from King’s College London. Besides his background in law, Lee has worked at a leading international financial services group abroad in London and Singapore for around 3 years.

Rahim & Co International’s executive chairman started small; nonetheless his 400 over employees are testament to his prowess as an exemplary employer. Among one of his many achievements, Tan Sri Abdul Rahim has served as a member of the Board of Valuers, Appraisers & Estate Agents, Malaysia. A man who takes pride in what he does, he credits his success to his parents’ hard work in raising him and the support of his family.

The group managing director of Ireka Corporation always leads the game with new ideas – most of which have materialised into hip properties such as Aloft KL Sentral Hotel, as well as prestigious awards. The company’s latest inspiration takes the form of a bespoke project called the RuMa Hotel and Residence, which is set to open soon. Beyond real estate, he is a a member of the Young Presidents Organisation, member of the Board of Trustees for the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, as well as a National Committee Member for the International Federation of Real Estate (FIABCI) Malaysia.

Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin is the group managing director of Sime Darby Property, taking his experience in the financial, banking and media sectors and using it to help push the company further. He currently sits on the board of directors of Media Prima Berhad and its subsidiaries, amongst them the New Straits Times Press. He is also the deputy president of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC), a member of the Board of Trustees of Enactus Education Foundation and the Ahli Lembaga Pengurus Tabung Amanah Perwira dan Pertahanan Negara (TAPPN).

As the CEO and executive director of KSK Group and managing director of KSK Land, Joanne clearly has her hands full, but still has dreams of setting up a social enterprise, and makes time for her family members. She has past experiences working in the insurance and banking industries in Germany and London respectively.

The third son of Tan Sri Danny Tan, Dion recently took the role of group managing director of Tropicana Corporation. The London School of Economics alumnus was formerly a strategy consultant with a global management and techonology consulting firm as a strategy consultant with experience in telecommunications, media and property sector. The upcoming W Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is one of the projects he is currently overseeing.

He is expanding to Johor by way of building the state’s biggest retail mall, the Mid Valley SouthKey Megamall.

Serving as UEM Sunrise's managing director and CEO, Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib has had extensive experience in a variety of fields outside of property development in areas such as finance, consulting and transports and logistics. The latest project under his leadership is the luxury lifestyle residences Solaris Parq Dutamas that's connected to popular shopping and F&B destination Publika. He also holds directorships in a number of other public companies that include UEM Land Berhad, Sunrise Berhad and Horizon Hills Resort Berhad.
