The graduates of the 57th Public Speaking Class

After months of hard work, seven speakers from the Kuala Lumpur Speakers' Club were finally able to showcase the fruits of their labour as they took to the stage of the Pullman KLCC Hotel's Grand Ballroom, dressed kaleidoscopically to their class name, the 'Y2020 Rainbow', in reference to the spirit of hope and perseverance despite a tumultuous year in 2020. In the presence of the royal guest of honour, Tengku Puteri Tan Sri Meriam, an elegant welcome speech was made by KL Speakers' Club president Tunku Dara Tunku Tan Sri Naquiah, followed by a rousing address by the class instructor, Roopvanti Lakhiani, who applauded the speakers for their dedication despite having to wait a year for their graduation ceremony to take place. To the theme Voices of Hope, the speakers gave their speeches and celebrated the graduation of the club's 57th public speaking class with the cutting of a cake. The ceremony concluded with an elaborate brunch, giving members, speakers and past instructors a chance to catch up after so long.
