Crowds, opinion leaders and corporate captains gathered on a Wednesday night at Intercontinental KL to celebrate the launch of the 2nd edition of Dialog: Thoughts On Tunku's Timeless Thinking. The launch was also a joint celebration with the 116th birthday of Almarhum Tunku Abdul Rahman and the 9th anniversary of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS).
Prior to the event, guests were seen mingling in the foyer, where Silent Art auctions were also taking place as well as merchandise vending courtesy of refugees. Post-ushering guests in, the national anthem was then sung before Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin took to the stage to give his welcome remarks. The IDEAS Annual Report 2018 presentation by CEO Ali Salman then took place while guests feasted on their dinner, which was then followed by a keynote speech by Dr Ong Kian Ming. The highlight of the evening, evidently, was when the new modern and colourful cover of the new book was unveiled on stage, with the short introduction which stated that this new edition of Dialog now features new essays by Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, YB Khairy Jamaluddin, Dato' Ambiga Sreenavasan and more.
As guests finished their dinner and desserts, Datuk Mazlan Othman gave the closing address to end the night.
