Where? Dinner at Salisterra at The Upper House

Here’s what you missed: Split across three tables, guests including fashion journalist Divia Harilela; Federico Tan, co-founder and managing director of Advisory Council; Septime Webre, the Hong Kong Ballet’s artistic director; and designer Vivienne Tam arrived in their holiday finest to enjoy a feast prepared by chef de cuisine Chris Czerwinski with friends so close they may as well be family.

Over cornbread, buttered scallops and salt-crusted turkey ballotine, Tatler friends seated at the private chef’s table shared what they were most thankful for this year. Angela Cheng-Matsuzawa said she had chosen to be grateful to Covid-19 for allowing her family a chance to be grounded in Hong Kong, creating more opportunities for quality time with her twin sons. Her husband Masaaki Matsuzawa agreed, but he expressed his longing for borders to open so that he could fly to Japan to see his extended family. The night was the ultimate Tatler take on Thanksgiving, with heaps of pumpkin pie, group selfies and endless bottles of champagne.
