Tatler Malaysia hosts a lunch for the founder of Earth Heir to present her with Tatler's Hero Award for her role in empowering traditional artisans

A meal at OpenHouse KLCC is always a delight but this luncheon was extra special because it was also in honour of Tatler's Hero Award recipient, Sasibai Kimis. The Earth Heir social entrepreneur has invited her family and team, including Earth Heir's CEO Wong Xiao Cheng, to share in this happy occasion. The Hero Award is given to the person who has made a significant social impact through their charitable work, philanthropy or social enterprise.

Earth Heir, which received the World Fair Trade Organisation certification last year, supports traditional artisans with fair wages and a platform to sell their wares.

The lovely afternoon of delicious Malaysian flavours and cheerful conversations culminated in the award presentation. Smiling from ear to ear, Sasibai thanked everyone present for their support, especially when things seemed impossible. According to her, they are the people who have supported her during her lowest moments. "This is a great honour and we'll display (the award) at the Earth Heir studio," she said.
