The founder and deputy chairman of renowned Country Heights Group of Companies, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, turned 60 last week in the warm embrace of his family and closest friends.
The auspicious occasion was commemorated by his wife, three daughters and two sons with a splendid dinner party that also saw esteemed guests like ex-Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Raziah Mahmud-Geneid, Tan Sri Danny Tan and Dato' Abdul Rahman coming together to celebrate his big day. Eldest daughter, Datin Dian Lee, gave a beautiful speech honouring her father as did Tun Dr Mahathir, who spoke of only happiness for his friend.
To officiate turning 60, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew cut his birthday cake that was made to resemble a tree, symbolic of the mythical Tree of Life, and was presented with his birthday present -- a unique golf cart that was imported all the way from Denmark -- before the night was over.
