An intimate evening at home surrounded by close friends and family—that's how Tan Kong King celebrated his 69th birthday this month. The theme was "A Touch Of Japan" and Chef Hei Chee Chon of Miraku was on hand to prepare the menu accordingly. The birthday boy had a splendid celebration thanks to wife Tan Khar Nai's detailed planning—from the table setting to the photo wall.
Over 40 guests were present at the joyous occasion, including Singapore Tatler friends such as Georgia Lee, Chermaine Pang, Terence Siew, Pauline Chan and not forgetting the couple's children, Angelina Tan and husband Desmond Ngiam as well as Alina Tan and her husband Hans Chua. Both Kong King and Khar Nai donned kimonos as they greeted guests and posed for shots at the photo wall. But this wasn't Kong King's only special get-up, who sportingly wore an inflatable crown later as he gave a short speech to everyone in attendance. The party continued late into the night as guests gathered together to appreciate wine and even more Japanese food.
