Held to benefit Laureus Foundation Switzerland, Tortour is the world’s largest non-stop, multi-day cycling event for professional and amateur cyclists, covering 1,000km between the start and finish at Schaffhausen. This year, there were a total of seven teams from IWC alone, combining forces with professional cyclists from AMG Rotwild. Laureus itself fielded nine teams. IWC’s CEO Christoph Grainger-Herr led by example by forming his own team with IWC watchmaker Samuel Vuillernez and Swiss professional cyclist Simon Zahner, coming in 6th in the Challenge category, a medium-length course of 550km. Through a crowd-funding campaign, the teams raised a total of CHF60,000 (about RM247,000) for a social sports project by Laureus Foundation Switzerland.
