The long Easter weekend was made all the sweeter by Serene Chua's candy-themed birthday luncheon last Friday afternoon. Guests came decked out in pastel tones according to the theme, and the birthday girl herself picked a fun Versace scarf-printed outfit. The celebrations took place on the indoor deck of Ce La Vi at Marina Bay Sands, so everyone could enjoy the beautiful sea view as they dined on the scrumptious custom 4-course menu. The decor was also adorable, featuring custom balloons, including a large balloon unicorn, and toy cupcakes, macarons, and drawings made by Serene's daughter, Amber. And naturally, there was candy galore, with lollipops, Smarties, and Skittles dotting every table. Even the three-tier cake was straight out of Candyland, covered in bright yellow-orange fondant and topped with colourful lollies and a unicorn carousel, which was sketched out by Serene and custom-made to her specifications. Serene's lovely children Amber, Christian and Bella, had all prepared dances to celebrate their mum's birthday but were a little shy to perform in front of a crowd. Nonetheless, everyone had fun in Candyland that day.
