Queen Elizabeth has been spotted for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown began in the U.K over two months ago.

According to the BBC, Queen Elizabeth enjoyed a weekend trot with her 14-year-old Fell Pony named Balmoral Fern in the grounds of Windsor Castle. She regularly rides in the grounds, which is said to be her favourite royal residence.

The royal family shared the charming images of the Queen in Windsor Home Park on their official Instagram account. “The Queen is pictured riding Fern – a 14-year-old Fell Pony – in Windsor Home Park this weekend,” the royal family said in the Instagram caption. “Her Majesty has enjoyed riding since childhood and is closely involved with the welfare of the horses she owns for breeding, riding, and racing.”

The last public photograph of the Queen prior to the Instagram slideshow was captured as she was being driven from Buckingham Palace to her Berkshire Home with one of her two Dorgis (a cross between a Corgi and a Dachshund) nearly three months ago.

Since then, her majesty has maintained a very low profile while isolating with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, their pets, and a select number of staff, only making appearances in a handful of video messages addressed to the nation.

The 94-year-old monarch is a well-documented animal lover and breeder of thoroughbred racehorses. In fact, the Queen’s horses have a winning percentage of 15.9 percent, which makes her the 11th most successful owner in flat racing over the past three decades. Her majesty has also reportedly owned two sloths, a colony of bats at her summer home, and, technically, all the dolphins and whales in British waters.
