What Tatler's man about town will give this Christmas—from Boy Smells candles to Van Cleef & Arpels pendants
Who’s been naughty this year? Last Christmas was pretty much a non-affair thanks to Covid-19. This year, I am making up for it with extra holiday cheer and generosity. I love treating my nearest and dearest to luxurious presents with special meaning. Here are the Christmas gifts I plan on giving.

Above A Buccellati Natural Seashell Coated with Silver, one of Cheung's failsafe gifts for very, very special friends
Silver shells in the city
After discovering Buccellati’s beautiful silver-coated seashells last year, I started collecting them, and have also given some to friends. For Christmas this year, these one-of-a-kind seashells will no doubt be a hit. They go with everyone’s decor, have a symbolic meaning of birth, good fortune and resurrection, and you can even hear the ocean in them.

Above Boy Smells candles have become a cult hit for their unconventional scents
Light a candle for the world
I love both lighting and giving candles, and this year I found the coolest brand, Boy Smells, from Los Angeles. Above Cheung's lucky goddaughters may receive Sweet Alhambra pendants from Van Cleef & Arpels this year
Top that
This year, I became co-godfather to two adorable sisters, who are six and four years old, with two other friends. We have become slightly competitive over who is the best godparent, so earlier this year, I gave each girl their first diamond, set within a small pendant (game on!). For my first Christmas as “godpapa”, I will give them their first piece of signed jewellery (start them young, right?) with Sweet Alhambra pendants from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Above Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Époque is Cheung signature champagne
A real corker
Absolutely everyone knows about my love of champagne, and without a doubt, my favourite is Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Époque. It’s nice to have a signature champagne that all my friends know is from me when they spot it under the tree.

A must-watch
The apparent must-have for kids is the new Casio G-Shock GA-2100-4A watch, which comes in a rainbow of colours. I loved the G-Shock when I was younger, so it’s cool to see a new generation following suit. Giving them as gifts makes me look like the coolest uncle who has his finger on the pulse of what kids want today. That’s me alright.
