Hong Kong's creative community came out in force last weekend to support non-profit art centre Para Site at its annual fundraising auction, which generates almost half of organisation's yearly budget. Pieces by British sculptor Antony Gormley, German painter Neo Rauch and local star Firenze Lai were among the more than 90 artworks on the block, all of which inspired fierce bidding wars among the gathered guests. But the good-natured competition was for a good cause: Para Site is one of the most active art institutions in Asia and produces exhibitions, publications, forums and more to foster greater appreciation and understanding of the arts. After this record-breaking evening, we can't wait to see what Para Site does next.
