Despite her family being under the spotlight for as long as she can remember—and vignettes of her life put on daily display for her 85,600-plus @kimmylecute Instagram followers—Kim Lim has successfully kept the finer details of her personal life under wraps. But, as they say, when you want to get to know someone, travel with them—as we did on a whirlwind 72 hours in Paris with Kim, where she goes from front row at Louis Vuitton autumn/winter 2015’s runway show to its heritage home in Asnières—and we found a smart, driven young girl behind that fun-loving public persona.

Aside from my travels to gather and check out possible businesses and tie-ups, I plan to design and produce an eyewear line by the year-end as well as create a capsule collection for Lunar New Year. Plans are in the works, so look out for it in my posts! I will also be going to New York to take a short financial course and meet up with other potential partners in lifestyle businesses.

People who know me know that I have a soft spot for the elderly and animals in need. And I realise that I am in a very lucky position where I can combine my love for fashion and great causes. The projects that will take up most of my time for the next few months are fundraising and advocacy campaigns for Bare Your Sole 2015, part of Habitat For Humanity Singapore and Animal Lovers League. I was pleasantly surprised and honoured to be a part of the Habitat For Humanity programme, especially since I rank as one of their youngest ambassadors, alongside other great international spokespersons including Brad Pitt. I plan to do more with them, such as helping out in building houses and raising awareness overseas, as well as back here in Singapore, to support their on-the-ground efforts to improve the living conditions of the underprivileged via its Project HomeWorks, which cleans up homes of the elderly, the sick and underprivileged.

I’m usually known for my shoe collection, and I’ve put them to a good cause. As ambassador for Bare Your Sole 2015, I took part in their annual barefoot fundraising and advocacy campaign where people from all walks of lives came together to walk barefoot to raise awareness of the plights of the less fortunate. I hope that my contributions and the walk brought more awareness and support for the great work that the organisation is doing.

Animal Lovers League is a no-kill, non-profit animal welfare charity organisation that aims to help homeless, sick and underprivileged animals with the help of other animal lovers. I went to visit the shelter and saw the 700 dogs and cats under their care. I now use my Instagram (@kimmylecute) as a platform for a bimonthly effort called “Furry Friends”, where I post pictures of animals up for adoption from the shelter. I am also combining my connections and passion for fashion to do a calendar photo shoot with well-known personalities and the shelter’s animals, for which all proceeds will go to Animal Lovers League. I will also be organising a fundraiser in July with an auction comprising pre-loved branded items from some celebrities to encourage the public to come and support a great cause. Details for this fashionable fundraiser benefitting the animals will be up on their website here

Valencia Football Club is on a spectacular run and I’m so proud of the team. My trips there greatly depend on my schedule, but I plan to be in the crowd screaming my support when possible, especially for the important final matches. I may even take Spanish lessons, who knows?
