The evening air was still and humid from the imminent rain, without a breath of wind—but guests at the Singapore Polo Club seemed not to mind. With their eyes focused on the action before them and a chilled glass of champagne in hand, they watched in respectful silence as some eight finalists from the National Dressage Championships took their handsome horses through the paces at the indoor field. No doubt, the judges Vittorio Barba and Sunil Shivdas had a hard time picking the winners, given the excellent restraint and showmanship demonstrated with their horses. After the prize presentation, riders and their guests adjourned to the bar for congratulatory drinks, light bites and to show off more nifty footwork—this time on the dance floor.
