Members of Malaysia Official Designers Association (MODA) are using their dressmaking skills to make much-needed PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) gear for hospitals
Led by newly appointed president Melinda Looi, MODA has joined the fight against the pandemic by pledging to make hospital gowns for as long as they are needed during this crisis. In an interview with New Straits Times, Looi said that she was driven into action after receiving many calls and messages from the fashion design community about their desire to help the frontliners of this fight.

Working in partnership with FashionValet, the PPE Fund Raising campaign was launched to appeal for donations to buy non-woven hospital standard material to make the hospital gowns. Each roll costs RM3,800 and is enough for 600 gowns. MODA is also working with Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMARET) who will assist in distributing the gowns to the latter's network of hospitals.
