Louis Vuitton Opens Maison Osaka Midosuji, Its Largest Flagship Store In Japan

Last weekend, Louis Vuitton celebrated the opening of its largest and seventh flagship store in Osaka with celebrity friends. Inspired by sailing vessels and the desire to reinterpret Osaka’s history as a seaside town, the new seven-floor facade was designed by world-famous architect Jun Aoki and designer Peter Marino with maritime elements. For instance, the wooden floors are inspired by sea decks while wood-clad pillars and metal roofs recall the interior of a luxury yacht. The maison also housed the very first Louis Vuitton café as well as a restaurant helmed by famous Japanese chef, Yosuke Suga.

Housed on the top floor is Le Café V that features a sea-inspired terrazzo flooring and coloured roof decorations reflecting and refracting sunlight

Next to Le Café V is the restaurant Sugalabo V, accessible via a hidden door

The fourth floor is home to Louis Vuitton Men’s Collection by artistic director Virgil Abloh
