It was a memorable experience for members of the wider Gen.T community when they came together to build a house in Kampung Orang Asli, Gurney, Batang Kali as part of our partnership with Epic Homes. Powered by a strong team spirit, our volunteers sawed, drilled and hammered collectively under the blazing hot sun to finish Epic Homes' 159th house in three days.

Founded by Gen.T honouree John-Son Oei, social enterprise Epic Homes builds houses for indigenous families in underserved rural communities.

Established in 2017, the partnership is one of several around the region under Gen.T Asia's Connect To Change campaign of CSR events. After raising RM90,000, enough to build two houses, we built the first home in 2017.

The completed home will mark a fresh start for newlyweds Yusry Bedulang and Norlyza Jaafar, who are residents in the village. Sharing in their joy were fellow villagers, including a group of lively orang asli children who cheered and clapped when the couple received the keys to their new home.
