Six of the city’s most stylish fashionistas granted us an all-access pass to their fabulous dressing rooms

WHO: Mira Yeh, vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Ballet, married to V-Nee, mother of one.

HER WARDROBE: As an avid collector of couture, Mira has been working on her wardrobe for at least 30 years. “What you see here is my in-season collection, stuff that I actually wear or use regularly,” she says, “but I actually have an entire warehouse full of archived pieces, like dresses from the 1980s, including pieces by Patrick Kelly, Giorgio Sant’Angelo, Franco Moschino, Christian Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs when he was with Perry Ellis, and Valentino’s last collections.”

Her archive is more of a memory bank than anything she will wear again. “These pieces remind me of the times, like the 1980s and 1990s, that were such a great time in fashion and I love having mementoes.”

KEY PIECES: An embellished silver Julien Macdonald gown that weighs almost as much as Mira. She has never worn it in public but made an exception for our shoot. “There’s no real occasion in Hong Kong that warrants such an outfit,” she explains, “plus Jennifer Lopez has already worn it, so it’s more for my personal collection.”

FOOT FETISH: We counted at least 300 pairs of shoes in Mira’s dressing room, including classic styles from Christian Louboutin, statement heels from Giuseppe Zanotti, slingbacks in every colour from Christian Dior, and a few pairs of the impossible-to-find PVC Yeezy ankle boots beloved of Kim Kardashian.

SURF’S UP: Mira’s svelte figure is a result of her active lifestyle. She loves spending time aboard the family yacht, which is moored in Phuket, and she’s obsessed with wake-surfing. Her delight in water-based activities is clear from row upon row of bikinis on custom-made hangers in another corner of the dressing room.

HOT WHITE NOW: Mira has a weakness for anything in her favourite colour—white. We mean anything, from a white crocodile Fendi Peekaboo handbag, a customised white Birkin, white Jimmy Choo heels, white Chanel ballet flats, and the list goes on.

LABEL LOVER: Her go-to designers of the moment are Off-White and Christian Dior. She loves Maria Grazia Chiuri’s astrology handbags from Dior’s spring 2017 collection.

HIGHLIGHT FROM THE SHOOT: Popping opening a bottle of Chateau Margaux 1994—standard.
