When it came to celebrating the next wave of entrepreneurs and changemakers selected for the 2019 Generation T List, it was an evening of firsts. During the intimate four-course dinner, Tamara Lamunière, Head of Generation T Asia, announced the Gen.T List's expansion from local to regional, recognising 400 of the brightest innovators across Asia.
The new Rosewood Hotel, a symbol of millennial ingenuity, was a fitting venue to host this year's fête. Sponsored by Credit Suisse and Chopard, this year’s honourees including Vivian Kong, Yogananth Andiappan and Cyrus Wong received custom Gen.T issues with their profiles on the covers. The Tatler Tribe—a panel of industry leaders like Emily Lam-Ho and Francis Cheng that curated this year’s list—were also in attendance.
After the first course, Tamara invited guests to the inaugural Gen.T Asia Summit in November, which will bring together the continent’s most influential leaders. John Wood, founder of the education charity Room to Read, gave a moving speech about the power of knowledge. He also announced that his charity will be opening a school in Cambodia later this year, thanks to its partnership with Tatler Asia. Tatler Asia’s Chief Brand Officer Sean Fitzpatrick provided a moment of levity by toasting this year's Gen.T Listers with Glyph, the world's first molecular whiskey. After dinner, guests proceeded next door to the Grand Ballroom for the Gen. T List 2019 unveiling.
