The rock ‘n roll era holds a special place in the heart and memory of Louie Ablaza, honorary consul of Zambia. So, in celebrating his 80th birthday, he brought his guests back to the glory days of rock ‘n roll. Held at Amelia, the Ablaza family’s majestic estate in Alfonso, Cavite, the retro party started with a Sunday Mass, followed by hotdogs ala American diner, then a scrumptious lunch, and ended with dancing. His “hostess with the mostest” wife Mellie, honourary consul of Guatemala and after whom the estate was named, was there in her ’50s best along with their children and grandchildren.
