In conjunction with International Women’s Day 2019, Malaysian Aids Foundation hosted a #GirlPower Gala Dinner to celebrate four outstanding female leaders. The gala dinner started with a welcome speech by MAF’s chairman Professor Dato’ Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman, followed by a cheque presentation from the night's donors to representatives of MAF. To everyone's surprise, guest-of-honour Hannah Yeoh announced an additional pledge of RM10,000 from her ministry. The highlight of the night is a forum by the four celebrated women, including Lee Jim Leng and Datin Mina Cheah-Foong, who led an engaging discussion about how important it is to empower the HIV-stricken community through initiatives that give them respect and dignity.
