One of the awards given out at the Hong Kong Tatler Ball is the prestigious Diamond Award, which honours great citizens who have shaped Hong Kong and the world among Asia’s powerhouses of business. We look back at the past decade's recipients—with the exception of 2017 and 2011—who are still key players in Hong Kong today:

Hong Kong's second richest man, Lee Shau-kee, is the founder, chairman and managing director of Henderson Land Development, chairman of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company, vice-chairman of Sun Hung Kai Properties and a non-executive director of Hong Kong Ferry Holdings.

In November 2017, the dedicated philanthropist donated HK$1 billion to charity after promising he would do so "if the Hang Seng Index climbed above 30,000 points." It's certainly an impressive figure, but one which hardly makes a dent in his HK$185.4 billion fortune.
