Hong Kong’s Evan Chow and Mainland China’s Michael Xufu Huang, both trustees of New York’s The New Museum of Contemporary Art hosted an intimate dinner for their friends and fellow museum trustees, who were in town for this year’s Art Basel Hong Kong. The dinner was hosted at Ammo at the Asia Society and the evening toasted the New Museum’s Toby Dewan Lewis director, Lisa Phillips. Once all the guests were seated, Evan and Michael made an opening address where they welcomed everyone present and re-iterated their support for the New York art institution. The New Museum was founded in 1977 by late American art historian, critic and curator, Marcia Tucker, and is Manhattan’s only museum solely dedicated to contemporary art.
