Design Intervention Fetes Emerging Talents At The Young Designer Award 2019
Led by Nikki Hunt and Andrea Savage, Singapore-based practice Design Intervention has scooped out multiple accolades over the years while nurturing emerging talents with the Young Designer Award.
Now into its fifth year, the Young Designer Award is an interior design competition organised by Design Intervention, which receives entries from young design students studying in Singapore. The winners are selected by an interdisciplinary jury panel, which includes Kissa Castañeda, Editor-in-Chief of Singapore Tatler, and Oscar Wezenbeek, Managing Director of AkzoNobel Decorative Paints South East and South Asia.
This year, Gordon Tran Hieu Nguyen from Raffles Design Institute received the Young Designer Award, the top accolade of the night. The winning project featured a minimalist scheme that integrates greenery into the apartment to create a cosy and healthy environment for a multi-generational family. Additionally, the Dulux Colour's Choice Award was given to Gareth Seah from the National University of Singapore, who also received the Runner-up accolade at the 2018 edition of the award ceremony.
