Society's favourite 'It' couple are expecting and boy, are they excited!
Before the days of ultrasounds and blood tests, people didn't know whether they were expecting a boy or girl till they gave birth. Together with Cheryl Wee and Roy Fong, we put some common old wives' tales to the test—how accurate do you think these sayings are?
Pregnancy myth #1: Morning sickness
Some believe that the severity of your morning sickness will clue you in on the gender of the baby: the more severe, the more likely you're carrying a girl, they claim. "Before I even knew I was pregnant, I didn't experience any symptoms at all. In fact, I did a pregnancy test on a whim—I was about to start on a series of womb treatments and just wanted to be doubly sure that I wasn't expecting," Cheryl says. "The ironic thing was, a week after I found out I was pregnant, the morning sickness got really, really bad!"
Conclusion: The verdict's still out!

Pregnancy myth #2: Cravings
If you're craving salty and savoury foods like potato chips, you're more likely to be carrying a boy, while a sweet tooth could mean you're expecting a girl. "To be honest, I don't really crave for anything savoury or sweet, as I try to listen to what my body needs. But if I had to choose between fried chicken or cake, I would pick chicken over a sweet dessert."
Conclusion: Pretty accurate!
