Bank of Singapore's annual tradition of celebrating Deepavali with its customers and guests is a much-awaited affair. Not only is the glitzy party an opportunity for the Indian community to gather and fete an important festival, it is also a chance for the guests to enjoy the exciting musical performance by a popular artiste. This year's dinner was held at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore in October and themed “Love, Light and Happiness”. Jawed Ashraf, high commissioner of India to Singapore, together with the bank's chairman, Ching Wei Hong and CEO Bahren Shaari, kickstarted the celebration that evening with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony before the guests feasted on sumptuous Indian dishes.

When it was time for the lights to dim and the music to start blasting from the speakers, the 300 guests were sent into a frenzy. Shaan, one of India’s most iconic and award-winning artistes, charmed everyone at the glitzy dinner with his stage presence and slick dance moves. He sang a set of retro Bollywood songs that many hummed and danced along to before he performed a high-energy dance compilation of his most famous Bollywood chart busters.
