No one breathes life into our favourite childhood fairytales better than Ballet Manila
Ballet Manila, prolific “Storytellers on Toes”, transported their audience to the land of fairytales for their 24th performance season with a rendition of Sleeping Beauty. Headed by artistic director and prima ballerina Lisa Macuja Elizalde, Sleeping Beauty brought talented dancers to the forefront of the Newport Performing Arts Theatre stage.

Ballet Manila principal dancer Jasmine Pia Dames took the lead role of Aurora, while Romeo Peralta played her prince. Other dancers were Joan Sia, Gerardo Francisco, and Mark Sumaylo.

Our classic childhood favourite was reinvented on stage to include more characters, for more vivid storytelling on stage. This performance is set to close off Macuja Elizalde’s “Princess Trilogy”, which was kickstarted by their renditions of Snow White and Cinderella.
