The French Culinary Institute-educated restaurateur and her team at the Moment Group opened one new restaurant every 45 days for three years. One of their many ventures was to bring Michelin-starred Din Tai Fung to the Philippines.

The art history graduate followed in the heritage conservation efforts of her father, Jose L Acuzar, to found Bellas Artes Projects, an artist residency programme that fosters interaction between contemporary artists and traditional craftsmen.

3. Maria Carmela Alvarez

Educated at the Boston business school Babson College, Maria was elected mayor of San Vicente, Palawan, at the age of 21. She has since put the town on the map as an ecotourism paradise while founding and running her own fashion brand, LCP. Education and youth development are causes close to this former World Economic Forum Global Shaper’s heart.

4. Sandra Soriano

Not your average foodie, this French Culinary Institute-educated graduate also has a master’s degree in food policy from City, University of London. She advocates for sustainable food and public health as culinary consultant for behavioural research think-tank SCL London, and is involved with the Slow Food movement.

NATURAL HABITAT: Eating her way around her London base, where her favourites include Gymkhana for Indian cuisine and Casa Cruz for a Friday night out.

WIN HER HEART: You’d better be an altitude junkie—she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for her 30th birthday.

5. Natalia Zobel

This exotic Boston College graduate may have impressed more than a few suitors when she was presented at Le Bal des Débutantes in 2013, but the daughter of Ayala Corporation’s Iñigo and Maricris Zobel has business on her mind: namely, ZP Lifestyle Trading, where she serves as chief of marketing and business development, and fashion and lifestyle boutique Lanai, which she co-owns with her sister and a friend.
