Now extended until April 30, Tai Kwun pop-up invites guests to experience ‘la dolce vita’ this spring

Due to popular demand, the Primavera Ad Amalfi pop-up at Tai Kwun has now been extended until April 30, 2021.

With travel restrictions still prevailing, many of us are wistfully dreaming about our next vacation in a far-flung, sun-soaked destination. This spring, Black Sheep Restaurants and Tatler present the next best thing to boarding a plane, bringing the charm of the Amalfi Coast to Hong Kong with a themed pop-up.

Located at Tai Kwun’s Magistracy building, Primavera Ad Amalfi evokes the coastal atmosphere of scenic seaside eateries perched atop the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, complete with sublime seafood dishes, signature cocktails and boutique wines, seaside  soundtrack and genuine Italian hospitality.

Synonymous with endless summers, the Amalfi Coast is one of the world’s most idyllic coastlines, a picturesque assortment of colourful towns nestled into steep cliffsides, sun-dappled coves, and restaurants and cafés brimming with freshly caught ocean produce. Transforming the ground floor of the historical building at Tai Kwun, ‘Osteria Positano’ embraces this spirit of lazy Italian summers, offering an instant escape to the sun-drenched coast of Italy—perfect for those itching for their next adventure abroad.

Guests are invited to embrace the sweet life––‘la dolce vita’––savouring delectable regional dishes inspired by one of the best food destinations in the world, all washed down by a bottle of vino shared amongst friends and family. Seating a total of 52 guests, the eatery evokes warm nights in Amalfi. A traditional ocean-inspired menu celebrates the diverse cuisine found in the seaside regions of Italy, offering a mouth-watering assortment of dishes curated by the Black Sheep Restaurants culinary team.

Savour a four-course set menu ($850 per person, served family-style), which includes a spread of crudos and salad to start, followed by house made fresh pastas with spanner crab and zucchini, alongside a classic Stozzapreti with pesto Genovese, and a showstopping whole grilled Sea Bream to finish. Hand-selected Italian wines will be also available to order by the glass. Adding to the atmosphere at the weekends is live musical entertainment including a traditional ‘Serenata’ accompanied by an accordion, adding to the elegant atmosphere and aura of romance.

Just outside the restaurant, guests will find a cosy courtyard inspired by the outdoor mercatos in Italy, complete with a handful of market stalls and fun carnival games to extend your Amalfi holiday. Sip on a Campari Soda or Aperol Spritz at the bar to whet your appetite before dinner, or enjoy a postprandial nightcap or gelato as you soak in the alfresco vibes. Anyone with reservations at the restaurant will receive three complimentary tokens to use as you like at the food and game booths.

Whether wandering the pebbled pathways of the Amalfi Coast is a closely cherished memory or the journey exists only in imagination, Black Sheep Restaurants and Tatler are giving guests the chance to be whisked away and live out their sun-drenched Italian fantasies this month in one of the most historic Hong Kong buildings. So, gather your friends and family, bring a hearty appetite, and get ready for a spring sojourn to the Amalfi Coast underneath the stars.

The Tatler x Black Sheep Restaurants Primavera Ad Amalfi will take place from April 2, 2021 to April 30, 2021 at Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Culture. Find out more information and register here.
