This night was a joyous occasion for celebrity hairstylist and photography enthusiast Albert Nico, as he proudly presented The Soul of Portraits, a coffee table book featuring personalities from all walks of life, such as Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, Orson Liyu, Dato' Sri Bernard Chandran, Amber Chia, Datuk Kelvin Tan and many more, rounding up the number to 90 altogether. All his subjects hold a place in his heart, and it was revealed that it was Datin Elaine Daly who was the one that sparked the idea for the project, when she insisted on Albert taking her portrait while she was eight months pregnant with her second child. The event also had DJ Jeff Chee conducting an auction of 11 street photography masterpieces taken by Albert, with Jack Lee and Veronica Ong as the highest bidders of the lot, donating RM11,188 for the last picture. Proceeds from the sale of the book and auction will be donated to Give Malaysia, in aid of children diagnosed with cancer. What a wonderful and meaningful way to celebrate Albert Nico’s 53rd birthday!
