It was an inspiring evening as the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) honoured women who have made significant contributions to society at its annual Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony and gala dinner. The fifth edition of this event saw 12 women inducted into the honour roll, including Singapore’s first First Lady, Puan Noor Aishah; hotelier Claire Chiang; and well-known philanthropist Tan Teck Neo, who left a legacy of decades of community work. Presenting each honouree and their representatives with their trophies was SCWO patron and guest-of-honour, president Halimah Yacob, who gave a lighthearted speech that had guests in fits of laughter. Closing the night's celebrations were the young performers from the Kids Performing Academy of the Arts who impressed the crowd with their strong vocals.
