It was a celebration worthy of a 10th anniversary party at the Ball in Monaco held at the Grand Ballroom of Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in November. Ten years ago, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation organised the first fundraising gala dinner here in Singapore to garner support and raise awareness of environmental and sustainability issues the world faces. This year, the Singapore chapter of the foundation under the leadership of Jacky Deromedi pulled out all stops to put up a memorable celebration complete with delectable food by the team from Adrift by David Myers; and unforgetable country tunes by Matthew and The Mandarins, a popular local band from the 1970s. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, who has always made it a point to attend the gala since its inception, was in attendance once again with Masagos Zulkifli, minister for the Environment and Water Resources the guest of honour that evening. Partying and enjoying aside, the guests showed their passion for eco-consciousness during the live auction as they bidded for the items generously. The Ball In Monaco 2018 raised some $1.5 million, which will benefit the foundation's programmes and fund its projects and initiatives.
