This is Tatler's weekly horoscope for the week of October 17 to 23

Welcome back to our weekly astrology series led by Hong Kong-based Western astrologer, De Rui.

Mercury and Jupiter turn direct, lifting the fog and our faith in the future. Resistance against being controlled may come up with harsh contacts to Pluto. A Full Moon in Aries sheds light on when to cut to the chase about what we want.

Thinking with clarity

Stars signs affected the most: Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius can find more clarity.

Mercury, the planet of logistics and communication, emerges out of retrograde on Monday. Though it will remain in its retrograde shadow for some time, a positive contact with Saturn this week brings extra clarity to our thinking. On the same exact day, Jupiter, the planet of abundance, turns direct after a four-month retreat. We can find that our views on what gives meaning to life are more well-formed after this time.

Let go of control

Stars signs affected the most: Scorpio may face resistance.

Controlling behaviours—either your own or from others—aren’t likely to play well this week with both the Sun and Mars in harsh contact with the powerful planetoid, Pluto. Forceful actions at this time will surely generate an equal and opposite reaction so think twice before you try to push someone into delivering the result you want. If someone is trying to manipulate you, remember that you do have a choice in the matter.

Honour impulses and instincts during Full Moon

Stars signs affected the most: Aries and Libra can find some balance between self and others.

The teeming planetary activity in Libra recently has called on us to wrangle with interpersonal relationships of all kinds. By the time we come to the Full Moon in Aries on Wednesday, we will have a better sense of just how far we can contort ourselves to please others. Even after taking into account everyone’s feelings and opinions, sometimes you can only be yourself. Collectively it’s a time to honour our own impulses and instincts.
