Now that Malaysia has revised the Covid-19 booster dose vaccination interval period to three months, individuals who have yet to receive their booster shot appointments on MySejahtera can register themselves on a waiting list at their nearest vaccination centre

Individuals who wish to get their booster shots without waiting for an appointment via the MySejahtera app can register to be part of a waiting list at their chosen vaccination centre (PPV). This follows the recent announcement by the Malaysian government to reduce the booster shot wait time for Pfizer, Astra-Zeneca and Sinovac recipients to three months in an effort to step up protection against the new and highly infectious Omicron variant.

As of January 4, 2022, a total of 122 Omicron cases have been identified in Malaysia so far.

According to an announcement by ProtectHealth, a subsidiary under the Ministry of Health (MoH) Malaysia which has been tasked with implementing the private medical practitioner participation in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, registering to be on a vaccination centre's waiting list is free of charge, and individuals who have not yet received their MySejahtera appointments for the booster shot are advised to register for only one vaccination centre to avoid double-booking.

To register for your booster shot, check online for the PPV centre nearest to you. Registration can be done via phone or email. You'll be asked to provide details like your full name, your IC or passport number, your contact number, and your vaccination type along with the date of your second dose. The PPV centre will then contact you if an available slot opens up due to cancelled appointments or no-shows for prior appointments received through the MySejahtera app.

At present, ProtectHealth advises that walk-in booster shot appointments are not available at PPC centres and off-site PPVs. Only those who have appointments will be given priority.
