At Watches and Wonders 2025, Grand Seiko unveils three new Japanese-styled timepieces inspired by the “essence of time.”
At Watches and Wonders 2025, Grand Seiko captivated watch enthusiasts with three new masterpieces, each drawing inspiration from the quintessential beauty of Japanese aesthetics. Representing the Masterpiece, Heritage, and Evolution 9 lines, these timepieces resonate like musical notes, expressing the full diversity and depth of Grand Seiko’s watchmaking heritage.
More than mere timepieces, these watches are stories told through metal, gemstones, and light. Every detail, every line, pays homage to the “Nature of Time”, where design influenced by nature, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of perfection converge.
Masterpiece Series—The majestic masterpiece of the king of the jungle
SBGD223, the Spring Drive 8-Day Jewellery Watch, is a limited edition of just 8 pieces, embodying power, sophistication, and regal beauty. The deep black dial, reminiscent of the enigmatic night, draws inspiration from the image of a lion rising in bravery. At the centre of the dial, precision stamping techniques sculpt the lion’s mane, a symbol of ultimate strength. More than 600 sparkling diamonds, meticulously arranged in an arc on the 18K white gold track, combined with mysterious black spinels serving as minute markers, create a captivating interplay of light.

At the heart of this masterpiece lies the Spring Drive Caliber 9R01, a mechanical marvel crafted by the skilled artisans at Micro Artist Studio. Three interconnected barrels provide ample power, enabling the watch to run continuously for eight days. For the first time, Grand Seiko has employed the pavé technique (encrusting with precious stones) on the watch case, where diamonds of varying sizes are flawlessly arranged, creating a dazzling light effect that enhances the beauty of the 950 Platinum case and anti-reflective, double-curved sapphire crystal.

Heritage Line: Kiri flower purple blooms on the wrist
Grand Seiko has reinterpreted the legendary 44GS design with the SBGW323—a sublime blend of heritage and modernity. The dial evokes a field of purple Kiri flowers at dawn, radiating peace and romance. The soft lavender hue, symbolic of Iwate’s spring, coupled with the distinctive Iwate mountain motif, creates a refined and poetic beauty that graces the wrist.
