The UBS Hong Kong Open currently takes place at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling until Sunday. Some luxury watch brands have gotten involved in the game over the last few years. Here are five watches you might spot on the players' wrists:

1. OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Chronometer “Golf Edition”

An Omega ambassador since 2003, Spanish player Sergio Garcia will be wearing the Seamaster Aqua Terra "Golf Edition", which was created as a tribute to OMEGA’s ongoing connection to the global game.

The watch is 41mm and features a sunbrushed black dial distinguished by a horizontal “teak” pattern, as well as a date window at 6 o'clock and rhodium-plated hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova. Green is used for the central seconds hand, the "Seamaster" wording and the four quarter numbers on the minute track. The watch is presented on a sporty green and black striped NATO strap.

Garcia won The Masters in 2017 where he received The Green Jacket, the award given to the winner, which will surely go well with his Omega.

2. Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf

Olympic Champion and Hublot ambassador Justin Rose will be sporting the newly released Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf. The watch allows golfers to seamlessly calculate their score whilst on course. Hublot’s mechanical golf watch features aperture displays and is ultra-lightweight, providing true sports performance.

The Big Bang Unico Golf has a putter-shaped pusher at two o-clock to activate the mechanism for displaying the number of strokes taken and counts the strokes per hole. The pusher at four o’clock allows the wearer to move on to the next hole by resetting the stroke counter to zero. The counter at six o’clock displays the total number of strokes played and is simultaneously updated.

The pusher at eight o'clock is shaped like a tee. This resets the mechanism and sets the counters to zero at the end of the round. During the round, this button can be locked by rotating it by 45°, thus ensuring that it is not inadvertently activated.

3. Rolex Submariner Date

Twenty-three year-old Rolex Testimonee Matthew Fitzpatrick is a young but already very talented player as shown by his four victories on the European Tour.

He can usually be seen wearing his Rolex Submariner Date in 40mm. The watch features the easily recognisable Oyster case, large luminescent hour markers on the dial and a graduated rotatable Cerachrom bezel. The bezel is engraved with 60-minute graduations which allow divers to accurately and safely monitor diving times and decompression stops. The watch is waterproof to 300 metres.

4. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Spanish golfer and Audemars Piguet ambassador Miguel Ángel Jiménez loves wearing his Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in 18-carat pink gold. With 28 professional wins under his belt, Jiménez wears a watch as equally impressive as his career.

A champion at making perpetual calendars for more than 140 years, Audemars Piguet released this model in 2015 enlarging the overall size to 41mm from 39mm previously, making the dial and its indications more legible. The watch displays the day, date, astronomical moon, month, leap year, and the 52 weeks of the year on an outer chapter ring.

The glareproofed sapphire caseback will let you admire the in-house 5134 movement.

5. Richard Mille RM 38-01 G-Sensor Bubba Watson

American golfer, multiple major winner and Richard Mille ambassador Bubba watson isn't playing in the UBS Hong Kong Open, but his watch is worth mentioning as the RM 38-01 Bubba Watson combines a patented G-sensor with a tourbillon mechanism, thus providing new insights for golfers during their game which allows the user to see the accumulated motion of their swing in G’s. The G-sensor mechanism is integrated into the heart of a manual winding tourbillon movement.

With that knowledge on their wrist, golfers can check the strength of their swing and thus allows them to better adapt the power of their technique accordingly to the playing requirements of each course they compete on.
