Cover The bezel and crown of the Excalinbuir Spider Pirelli can now be exchanged for another with just a click

Imagine being able to change the look of your watch with just one click. Roger Dubuis achieves that with its latest Excalibur Spider Pirelli

There's no doubt that the Pirelli connection has given Roger Dubuis a bona fide link to motor-racing, not just in name but also in the design of the Pirelli's watch strap that features rubber inlays from tyres of winning race cars, complete with the familiar Pirelli Cinturato Intermediate pattern. With the new Excalibur Spider Pirelli, the Swiss watchmaker is echoing the speed (only seconds) it takes for cars to change tyres and be fuelled up in the middle of a race at the pit stops.

While interchangeable strap is nothing new, Roger Dubuis takes it a step further by allowing you to swap the crown and bezel as well with little effort, both apparently a world's first. The bezel and crown employ the same Quick Release System of the strap. Both bezel and crown can be removed by moving them counter-clockwise until you hear a click, and secure them again by going in the opposite direction—as easy as that.

With this feature in place, Roger Dubuis lets you choose from among these colours—red, white and blue. Endowed with a skeleton calibre, the watch is crafted in DLC titanium with white gold hands coated with black PVD. The lightness of the watch—titanium is 45 per cent lighter than steel but just as strong—complements its sporty appeal with a notched bezel and the Pirelli-inspired rubber strap.
