The actors model Panerai timepieces in the brand’s new short film
“Time is important.” That’s the opening line of a new video by Italian watchmaker Panerai starring actors Adam Pak and Terrance Lau, who discuss the importance of embracing time and seizing every opportunity in the pursuit of success. The stars have clearly bought into this ethos, with Pak sporting a Luminor Marina 44mm PAM01314 and Lau wearing a Luminor Due PAM01423 throughout.
Released in 2020 to celebrate 70 years of the iconic Luminor Marina, the PAM01314 that adorns Pak’s wrist comes with a matt-white, sandwich-structured dial, a first for Panerai, with Arabic numerals and hour markers in grey Super-LumiNova with green luminescence. The small seconds display is positioned at nine o’clock, while the date indicator window nestles neatly in the three o’clock position, giving the dial a pleasing symmetry.

The PAM01314 is powered by Panerai’s P.9010 in-house movement, which packs 200 components and 31 jewels as well as a Glucydur balance and Incabloc anti-shock device into its 6mm thickness. It also boasts a three-day power reserve, with water resistance up to 300 metres.
The case is 15.45mm thick, with a diameter of 44mm, and is crafted from AISI 316L brushed steel, with a polished steel bezel and brushed steel safety lock device to protect the crown. The strap, meanwhile, is available in either grey velvet calf leather with white stitching, with a trapezoid buckle in brushed steel, or a sportier green rubber option.

Lau’s wrist candy of choice, the Luminor Due PAM01423, was one of the novelties unveiled by Panerai at Watches and Wonders Shanghai 2023. Set in a slightly smaller 42mm case, the new reference introduces opulent yellow gold to the Luminor Due line for the first time; paired with a green alligator strap with dark shaded scale ridges, it lends a feeling of lavish luxury to the timepiece.
Like the PAM01314, its dial is adorned with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova, and the small seconds and date displays are again at nine and three o’clock respectively. Where the PAM01423 differs is the striking green hue, which transitions from a lighter-shaded centre to darker edges.
A transparent caseback shows off the automatic P.900 calibre movement, which is 4.2mm thick, comprises 171 components and 23 jewels, and comes with a three-day power reserve and 50 metres of water resistance.
