Moving from Hong Kong to Shanghai, the Take Your Time Weekend of Oriental Watch returned with rare novelties, opera performances and fireside talks, as ten of horology's most storied names gathered inside a century-old villa on Fenyang Road
Beneath the phoenix trees of a 1919 French garden villa on Fenyang Road, Shanghai's watch collectors gathered for three days of horological indulgence, as Oriental Watch Company brought its Take Your Time Weekend to the mainland.
Running from June 12 to 14, the exhibition followed the format of the successful 2025 debut in Hong Kong’s Central district, this time setting up inside a villa designed by Hungarian architect László Hudec;its colonnaded façade and leafy grounds offered a serene escape from the intensity of the city. The first night saw guests welcomed with a traditional Shanghai opera performance, which lent a distinctly local flourish to proceedings.

The event featured ten prestige independent watchmaking houses: Bell & Ross, Corum, Czapek Genève, Girard-Perregaux, Grand Seiko, H Moser & Cie, Laurent Ferrier, Nomos Glashütte, Tag Heuer and Ulysse Nardin. Each presented novelties alongside rare pieces drawn from private collections. The exhibition was structured around four curated zones: Echoes of Time, showcasing signature masterpieces; Time Gallery, which traced brand heritage; Privileged Moments, offering close-up appreciation sessions; and Chrono Dialogues, a series of thematic talks. A professional watch repair service was also on site, giving guests a glimpse into the finer points of haute horlogerie.
