Introducing Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar, the slimmest automatic watch with perpetual calendar function

Since 2014, the Octo Finissimo has been the canvas for Bulgari's innovative solutions for ultra-thin watches. It began with a manual-winding tourbillon (which remains the thinnest) before culminating in the Octo Tourbillon Chronograph Skeleton Automatic last year, the thinnest watch to boast two complications.

This year, it has mastered the reduction of a perpetual calendar, perhaps, in my books anyway, haute horlogerie's most useful grand complication besides the GMT. At 5.8mm in case height, it is the thinnest perpetual calendar ever produced. The calibre, BVL 305, is a mere 2.75mm thick but is composed of 408 parts. It operates retrograde indicators of the day, date, month and leap years, and possesses 60 hours of power reserve. No time adjustment is required until February 2100.

Making it more compelling is the material it's housed in—in fact, there are two to choose from this time. The first is the signature sandblasted titanium that has appeared in all previous six record holders. The bonus this year is a platinum version, which is complemented with a blue dial.
