This seriously playful creation doesn't just tell time – it's a great flight of the imagination.

The HM6 'Space Pirate' from MB&F looks nothing like your ordinary timepiece. It doesn't just tell time - it's a great flight of the imagination. While the watch keeps time with a strict metre, there is poetry in the organic curved lines that calls to mind Gaudí's La Sagrada Familia. Adding to its unusual form are the 360° spheres capped by transparent sapphire crystal domes that sit on four corners of the watch. They act as guardians of a central dome that houses a 60-second flying tourbillon.

Look beneath the case and you'll find a new calibre composed of more than 475 components and 68 jewels, a testimonial to the four years of research and development that MB&F undertook to dream up this seriously playful timepiece.

The HM6 'Space Pirate' retails exclusively at The Hour Glass.
