The precious timepiece features a first-ever tourbillon complication and a dial finished in mother-of-pearl.
Ahead of the Baselworld watch and jewelry show, which runs March 23-30, in Basel, Switzerland, the Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz has unveiled its "Grande Seconde Tourbillon Nacre," an exceptional timepiece combining creativity and watchmaking expertise.
Jaquet Droz has equipped its iconic Grande Seconde with a tourbillon complication for the first time. As well as this most prestigious of complications, the watch features pallet horns and a silicon balance spring, promising high-resistance and optimal precision.
Taking femininity to new heights, Jaquet Droz has finished the dial in mother-of-pearl, with subtle reflections contrasting with the 39mm red gold case set with brilliant-cut diamonds. These contemporary and luxury details are matched with more classic, traditional features, like Roman numeral hours and minutes indices.
The watch has a seven-day power reserve and a gold oscillating weight, also adorned with white mother-of-pearl.
The Jaquet Droz "Grande Seconde Tourbillon Nacre" has a white satin strap and is a limited-edition release of 88 pieces.
